A beautiful sunny day in Dulverton, lots of visitors out and about – the perfect day for the Plant Sale held for the first time this year in the Town Hall.
Quality plants were advertised and quality plants we had. This years’ sale was a huge success and a big “thank you” must go to everyone who donated such an abundance of plants – even non-Garden Club Members!
By 10.15am the Town Hall was filling up and by 11.00am there were large empty spaces on the tables as visitors filled boxes and bags with their purchases; a wonderful bustling atmosphere. The café corner was very popular and there was a brisk trade in bacon rolls, cakes, coffee and tea. Even after most of the plants had gone and we were beginning to pack up, later visitors were still enjoying the refreshments, which were, as always, hailed as totally delicious.
Overheard from around the tables : “I always buy plants from here”; “The one I bought from here last year is doing brilliantly”; “This is always a good day out” and finally what all plantophiles say: “There is always room for just one more plant”!!
